We're Here to Help You
Students who have been admitted to the University as degree-seeking students, have attended within the last 4 years, and have majors which are Undeclared (University Programs) or University Studies, or in some cases Nondegree, are usually advised by AARC. To see if that describes you, answer these questions about yourself.
Have you been admitted to the University? NO (If "yes," go on.)
Are you a newly admitted degree-seeking student, seeking advising for the first time? YES (If "no," go on.)
Are you a newly admitted "Non-degree seeking student" - admitted to the University, but you do not intend to complete a degree at NKU? YES (If "no," go on.)
Are you currently enrolled at NKU, or have you been enrolled at any time in the last 4 years? YES
If you are currently enrolled as a student at NKU, or have attended in the last 4 years...
Do you have an officially declared major (not just one in mind, but does NKU's computer have you with a major other than Undeclared-University Programs or University Studies)? If "yes," contact your major department for advising. If your official major is either Undeclared-University Programs or University Studies, you need to meet with an advisor in AARC.
Are you a Non-degree seeking student on probation (gpa below 2.0)? If "yes," then contact AARC - you must meet with an advisor here; if you are a Non-degree seeking student in good standing, you are not required to meet with an advisor.
If you are a student enrolled in the Honors program, you will have an advisor in that program, and if you have an Undeclared major, you may wish to meet with an advisor in AARC, but are not required to do so.
If you are participating in the Student Support Services Program and have a declared major, you must meet with your academic advisor in your major prior to registering for classes. If you are in SSS and have an Undeclared major, your SSS Support Specialist is your primary advisor and you are required to meet with him/her prior to registering for classes.
